PCB DESIGNER
|
Description:
The candidate will create CAD layouts and routing for high-density, double-sided, mixed-technology digital and analog multi-layer printed wiring boards. The candidate will prepare all applicable drawings and documentation needed for the fabrication and assembly of boards to meet IPC high-reliability requirements (IPC-221 and IPC-222).
Skills Required:
An understanding of basic electronics and component characteristics is required as well as a working knowledge of ANSI electrical symbols. An understanding of manufacturing processes and materials related to board/package design as well as the principles behind design for manufacture (DFM) is required. An understanding of board layout rules as they apply to high-speed design is required.
The candidate must possess good work habits, effective communication skills and work well in a team environment. Good computer skills with Unix and Win2000 operating systems, Microsoft Office and Outlook email are required.
Experience Required:
The candidate must be able to work from notes, rough sketches, or general instructions by Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and other printed wiring board designers. The candidate should have AT LEAST 4 years of PWB CAD experience with a working knowledge of Mentor Graphics BoardStation and Design Architect. A solid working knowledge of Mentor AutoActive RE is mandatory.
Experience Preferred:
An understanding of dimensioning and tolerancing principles per ASME 14.5 1994 is desirable.
